Summer School and Camps

Summer Camps for Students in Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Grade for 2019/2020

The children will enjoy a continuation of their learning as they join us for a summer of fun. The cultural area of the classroom will be transformed each week to reflect a different theme (seebelow). New number games and language activities will entice the children to further discovertheir world.

Weeks and Themes

Choose a week or several weeks of fun for your child! (We will be closed Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day)
Week 1: June 1-June 5 / Welcome to Summer!
Activities to meet the needs of each child as they are welcomed into the Montessori classroom. Individual lessons with a focus on manners and friendship will be given.

Dear Parents of Students Who Are Enrolled for Our Summer 2020 Program:

The following will be Maitland Montessori School’s Summer 2020 operating policies, which have been established due to COVID-19:

Staff

All staff will have a wellness temperature check before entering the school buildings.  They will wash their hands immediately after entering their classroom/office and throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is available for adult use only.

Wearing a PPE mask or other mask or face covering will be optional.

Students

No child may come to summer school with an upper respiratory infection, fever, or runny nose.  Please keep your child home until he/she is fully recovered and well.

During morning drive-thru, each student will have his/her temperature taken before the student exits his/her parent’s car.  A high temperature will result in the child not being allowed to come to school.  Students must be fever-free for at least two (2) days before returning to the school.

Should a child become ill during the school day, we will call the parents to pick up their child.

Parents

No adults other than Maitland Montessori School staff and essential workers will be allowed to walk onto the school campus.

All parental business will need to be conducted during drive-thru when possible.  If a parent needs to leave his/her car, the parent must wear a mask.  Please call ahead if you will need to speak with someone outside of drive-thru times.  Business may be conducted at a red picnic table in the courtyard.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up

Drive-thru gates will be closed and locked at 9:00 a.m.  If you arrive after that time, please take your child to the pedestrian gate with the video camera and call the main office at (407) 628-0019 to let us know you are there.  A staff member will come out, take your child’s temperature, and if your child is fever-free, the staff will escort your child to his/her classroom.  Non-staff adults cannot come on campus.

Gates will be open from 11:45 a.m.-12:00 noon for parents to pick up their Half-Day (morning-only) child.

Gates will be open from 2:30-3:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. for parents to pick up their School-Day and All-Day children.

Pick-up outside of the times stated above will be via a phone call to (407) 628-0019 and the child will be brought to the gate.

Classrooms

Classrooms will be disinfected throughout the day, with high-touch areas being cleaned frequently.  Each classroom will be disinfected at the end of each school day.

Recess

Classrooms will have outside time one class at a time.

Tours

Tours will begin Monday, June 1, at 3:00 p.m.  Tours will be for only two adults maximum and no children and will be held in the Yellow Room.  Tours will not go to classrooms that have children in them.  Please call ahead to (407) 628-0019 and speak with Ms. Leslie, our office administrator, for an appointment if you would like a tour.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at (407) 628-0019 or mms@maitlandmontessori.org.

Be safe, be well!
